Upper Morphy Lake Ranch
Absolutely beautiful high mountain property with pleasing valley views and striking snowcapped mountain views in winter and spring. 56.671 acres off the beaten path with trees, meadows, pasture, and forested mountain land all in one. Two streams cross this property, the Rito Morphy and the Morphy Lake inlet ditch, which the Owner indicates have water year-round on the property. The mountain is covered with tall pine trees and moss cover rocks through-out. There is a small orchard on the property of 8 apple trees and a pear tree plus a nice mature oak grove on the other side of the road. The property has frontage on both sides of the county road, the pasture on one side is fully fenced and the other side of the road is partially fenced. This property lies within New Mexico Fish & Game Unit 46. The Owners say they receive “big game hunting permits” (elk) depending on the year it could be 1 to 3. As you can see by some of the photos they see elk, deer & turkey. The wildlife photos were taken on the property by the owner. Additionally Morphy Lake State Park, stocked with Trout for fishing, is less than two miles from this property.
I do recommend a higher clearance vehicle. This property has just about everything that everyone is looking to find. While this property is a good candidate for an off-grid property with great southern orientation, the owner believes electricity is available approximately one mile away. This property is only 8 miles from Mora, NM, about 45 minutes to Las Vegas, NM, and 1 hour & 45 minutes to Santa Fe, NM.
